Robert is a graduate of Ricks College, now called BYU-Idaho.  Robert holds a private pilot's certificate, flies a Rans S6SE, works on light general and experimental aircraft avionics at the Rexburg airport in his spare time.  Flying, water sports, RV camping and riding motorcycles are some of his favorite hobbies.  He is a 2013 and 2015 Ironman  Coeur d'Alene Triathlon finisher. 

Robert has loved writing stories since his early teens, most dealing with the science fiction genre.  Married to Lola Hazel VanLeishout in 1983, they are the parents of five children and reside in Sugar City, Idaho.
